Mapping the Pacific – Annual conference 2021

Mapping the Pacific will examine the traditional way finding knowledge of the Pacific community, European exploration and the mapping of the Pacific from the early modern era through to the 19th century.

This conference is planned as a two-day event, commencing with an opening reception on the evening of 24 August at the State Library of New South Wales. This will be a hybrid event – onsite and online.

The conference is being hosted by the State Library of New South Wales in collaboration with the Australian and New Zealand Map Society, the Society for the History of Discoveries and the International Map Collectors’ Society.
