    Dear All,

The State Library has released around 1,000 digitised maps of old Sydney streets and are asking for your help match them to their present day locations.

Using our online mapping tool you can overlay old maps on top of current streets to see how our streets have changed, been renamed or even disappeared.

It’s fun, quick and simple to do – although sometimes those places are elusive! You will need to be registered to complete the task and your name will be credited for any contribution you make. Your efforts will significantly improve public access to these collections.

A similar project using this software was undertaken at the British Library with great results.

    Thanks,

    Maggie
